The alleged victim is known to the officer, who has been suspended from duty.
A female Metropolitan Police officer is due to appear in court accused of the sexual assault of a woman. Sergeant Rachel Bright, who works in the Met's South West Command Unit, is set to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
It is alleged she sexually assaulted a woman known to her while off duty in December 2022. Ms Bright, who is suspended from duty, was charged via a postal court summons in mid-September, the force said. The Met's Directorate of Professional Standards are aware.
