EXCLUSIVE: The Dick Stewart service in Glasgow helps men convicted of violent crimes reintegrate into the community once they leave jail.
A vital service which works with ex-prisoners to prevent them reoffending will close this month after its funding was slashed Glasgow City Council.
And it will no longer be able to provide home leave for prisoners from the end of the month if it does not receive further funding. The local authority said this was "due to the low number of men being supported by the current service in a calendar year and our aspirations to retain a community tenancy support model which has the capacity to support more men and women."
Another service user said: "Dick Stewart has had a massive impact on my life. It has helped me to readjust and reintegrate into society after being locked up for 10 years in prison and hospital."It gave me the opportunity to get my life back and start living my life without too much pressure."
