Loved ones remembered Jackie Sundheim, Steven Straus and Nicolas Toledo on Friday.
– The first services for those killed in Monday's mass shooting at a July 4 parade in Highland Park took place on Friday.Sundheim, 63, was a lifelong member and employee at North Shore Congregation Israel in Glencoe."I'm overwhelmed with such profound sadness that she won't be holding my hand during all the important things I have yet to complete," she said.
Calling his father a"real Chicagoan" who was born and raised in the city before moving to Highland Park in the 1960s, Jon Straus said his dad was still active and, until recently, was an avid cyclist.
