Seth Rogen's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated reboot cast and story details arrive, revealing a star-studded roster and fan-favorite villains.
Everyone's favorite underground heroes are coming back in style with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem cast and story details. The upcoming animated film is one of two movie reboots in the works based on Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's beloved comic book characters. Produced by Seth Rogen and his creative partner Evan Goldberg, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is currently set for an August 2023 release.
After years of keeping specifics under wraps, Paramount and Rogen have revealed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem cast and story details. First shown during the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, Rogen announced Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon will play Donatello, Michaelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael, respectively.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.
Regardless of how the latter two castings factor into the film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is already shaping up to be the best adaptation of the characters yet. Rogen has already promised that the movie will dive deeper into the teenage aspect of the heroes than previous incarnations, a point already emphasized by the age-appropriate castings, as well as the story of trying to be accepted by normal society.
The one point about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem's cast and story is the sheer amount of antagonists set to appear in the film. Though this could be seen as risking overstuffing the story, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has already shown an animated comic book movie can balance the inclusion of multiple fan-favorite villains without overwhelming the audience.
