As the nine people are sentenced next week from Tuesday onwards for one of the most horrific murders in the city, Legal Affairs Correspondent Rebecca Sherdley delves into the archives to look at some of the high profile cases in court so far this year.
* Rebecca Bell, 36, of Loughrigg Close, The Meadows, and Curtis Sheard, 23, of Wilford Crescent West, The Meadows, were acquitted of murder. He was found guilty in February of three indecent assaults on 14-year-old Jane Yeo, who lifted her right to anonymity.
