On Monday night, July 8, before Ghidella's departure, Seven News Brisbane was tracking 60,000 viewers behind the Nine's Brisbane news broadcast, according to the rating figures. On Monday this week, Seven News maintained less viewers at 153,000, compared to Nine News at 241,000 and Tipping Point at 127,000.
The mother-of-two has built an extensive media career over the last four decades, with previous stints at Channel 10 before joining Seven as a weekend presenter in 2007. Loyal viewers were left devastated by Ghidella's announcement, with her Facebook post amassing more than 3,400 reactions and 1,100 comments.
