Several people have been arrested at a Brisbane protest over the death in custody of an Indigenous woman.

Several people have been arrested after scuffles between police and protesters broke out following a sit-in outside Queensland Police headquarters.

Brisbane councillor Jonathan Sri, who filmed the event, said the demonstration followed the death of an Aboriginal woman at the Brisbane watch house. The woman, aged 49, had appeared in court on Monday on drug and property offences and been remanded in custody until 7 October.
