Several Coalition MPs have issued apologies after a 'very serious and grave incident' unfolded in the House of Representatives.
The"serious and grave incident" unfolded on Tuesday afternoon after Speaker Milton Dick ordered the doors to be locked during a division.
The MPs who left in defiance of the order included shadow ministry members Dan Tehan, Angus Taylor, Andrew Hastie and Ted O'Brien. Mr Dick said the attendant was left with an injured arm after the alteration resulted in her hitting the doorframe. "After the bells had been rung, I ordered that the doors be locked. After I gave this order, I'm aware that a number of members exited the chamber while one of the attendants was attempting to close and lock the door to the opposition lobby as directed.
