Farmers are calling on the government to enact a quick response to combat mice breeding, as thousands of vermin erupt and send the country towards the brink of another disastrous plague.
New South Wales Farmers Association Director Xavier Martin told Sky News' Peta Credlin that farmers across the state, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia have reported widespread damage to crops.
The concern comes after the nation suffered a severe blow to its agriculture in mid-2020 to 2021, after thousands of mice overran farms, houses, sheds, commercial and industrial buildings across the country.“Fortunately, that is fresh in people’s minds,” Mr Martin said. The state’s farmers association head stressed the urgency to act now as the industry prepares to sow winter crops.“As the seedling emerges, they nip the top off it.
