Sky News Meteorologist Rob Sharpe has warned New South Wales is in the 'midst of a severe storm outbreak' with rainy weather and flash flooding set to peak on Monday afternoon.

“Some of that is going to be severe as flash flooding, as usual, is the main concern from today’s storm.Mr Sharpe said the bulk of the storm would subside out to sea on Thursday, with wet weather expected to clear later in the week.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, there's a 95 per cent chance of rain on Monday afternoon with possible rainfall of 10 to 30 millimetres. "Very high chance of rain, easing to showers in the evening. The chance of a thunderstorm, possibly severe," their forecast read.
