Americans from Colorado to Georgia may experience damaging winds up to 70 mph and large hail more than 2 inches in diameter.
That storm would also end any remaining wildfire smoke in the air across the eastern U.S., meteorologists said. There still may be some hazy skies Sunday and Monday, but once that storm moves by, the smoke will also head out.Storms are already active in parts of the country and will continue through the late-night hours, especially in Alabama and Georgia, where a line of severe storms will likely move out of Tennessee after 9 p.m. ET and continue its push south, meteorologists reports said.
