Storms are moving into Columbus with weather expected to worsen as the day goes on, according to the National Weather Service.

Storms are expected to dampen the area around for the next couple of hours but the biggest concern for severe weather is expected to come during the evening hours and into the night, according to the NWS.

Temperatures are supposed to hit a high of about 85 degrees today with humidity remaining thick throughout the area. NWS officials are encouraging people in Central Ohio to monitor the weather throughout the day as a precaution. If central Ohioans encounter severe storms, the NWS encourages people to do the following:- If you are outside, get inside. If you're already inside, get as far into the middle of the building as possible.- Flying and falling debris are a storm's number one killer. Use pillows, blankets, coats, helmets, etc to cover up and protect your head and body from flying debris.

[7:35 AM] As expected, several clusters of storms are moving in from the W. Although this activity will continue to undergo a weakening trend and is not expected to be severe, downpours and frequent lightning are still possible through 10 AM, esp. in EC/SE IN and Tri-State/WC OH.
