Severe thunderstorm warning for flood-stricken NSW towns | MeganGorrey
Inland areas of south-east NSW are forecast to be hit by severe thunderstorms and dangerous flash flooding, as a low-pressure system sweeps heavy rain and damaging winds across the state on Sunday and Monday.
“The towns of concern at present are Wagga Wagga, Albury, Yass, Young, and all the towns along the Murray River system where we are currently seeing heavy rainfall,” Cooke said on Sunday. The Bureau of Meteorology’s Steve Bernasconi said a low-pressure system drawing warm, moist air from tropical areas into NSW had brought wide bands of rain and severe thunderstorms throughout much of the state.
