Just a season removed from 107 wins, the Giants could be planning for the future.
“The Giants need some star power,” Jon Morosi said Monday morning on the MLB Network. Morosi cautioned that the Dodgers, Cardinals and Padres are still favored, but called the Giants a"sleeper" to land Soto.
“If they move quickly today to make a move where Rodon or Belt go out, replenish the farm system. Think of it as almost a three-way deal with a little lag time in between to make this deal happen — where you bring in the prospects, repackage, regroup and make your best offer to the Nationals," he said.Regardless, a deal for Soto makes sense for a team that hasn’t gotten back on track after a stunning 107-win season.
