Two visitors to Egypt's Red Sea resort area are killed in separate shark attacks within 600m of each other over the weekend.

A Romanian woman in her 40s has become the second victim of a shark attack in Egypt's Red Sea in the past couple of days.The most recent victim, a Romanian woman, is yet to be formally identifiedRomania's Foreign Ministry confirmed a tourist, yet to be identified, was killed in a shark attack on Sunday.

On Saturday, Egyptian authorities closed a stretch of the country's Red Sea coastline after the Austrian woman died. A video circulated online purported to show the attack that killed the Austrian woman, relatively close to the shore, as seen from a nearby pier. Egypt's Red Sea resorts, including Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, are some of the country's major beach destinations and are popular with European tourists.
