The prestigious National NAIDOC Week Awards Ceremony is held in Brisbane and 10 winners are recognised for their triumphs.
A message from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese played before the awards ceremony — which, by the way, is being held in Meanjin.Every week, we listen to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to hear their voices even more clearly and to hear that knowledge and wisdom and experience they hold.Last week, Parliament said yes to holding a referendum.
Now the Australian people will have the chance to say yes to Indigenous recognition in our nation's constitution.We will have a chance to make history, a chance to change our country for the better, together.
