Sharks brace for heavy penalties as NRL uncovers multiple cap breaches | SMHsport
The NRL's salary cap probe into the Sharks has uncovered discrepancies beyond the one it self-reported to the integrity unit as the club braces for another heavy sanction from head office, one likely to have implications on this year's squad.
The Sharks board met on Tuesday night to debate a range of issues, including how to handle any proposed NRL fine and salary cap impediment. Sharks officials insist they were cognisant of the looming verdict over its salary cap mismanagement when they threw Segeyaro a career lifeline. Apart from bracing for its latest black eye, the Sharks are already appealing an $800,000 sanction handed down last year over a raft of emails previous officials instigated with former coach Shane Flanagan during his 2014 ban over the ASADA scandal.
