San Jose Sharks have not yet spoken to candidates about GM job, although that could change soon
SAN JOSE – The Sharks’ search for a permanent general manager remains in the nascent stages as the team, as of late this week, still had not talked to any potential candidates.
Individuals such as Arizona Coyotes assistant GM John Ferguson and longtime NHL goalie Kevin Weekes, now an analyst for ESPN and the NHL Network, have been mentioned as possible candidates. “We’re open to everything,” Interim general manager Joe Will said earlier this month. “Getting the best candidate, we don’t know the field they are going to be heavy in, where they’re going to be leveraged.
“We’ll see where this goes,” Will said. “But I have no doubt there’s going to be some very good candidates out there. At that point in time, we’ll be sifting through that and who is really the best fit to mesh with our needs here in San Jose.”
