Sharks’ rookie goalie might get another shot after his stellar NHL debut
SAN JOSE – Goalie James Reimer has been activated off of injured reserve and is available to play Tuesday when the Sharks host the Arizona Coyotes, looking to win back-to-back games for the first time in close to a month.
Makiniemi was reassigned to the Barracuda on Monday to make room for Reimer. But he impressed Quinn and the Sharks with his 23-save performance Friday in their 6-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks. Makiniemi was first recalled from the AHL on Dec. 6 and replaced Kahkonen the next night in the third period for what became a 6-5 overtime loss to the Vancouver Canucks.
