The ‘Basic Instinct’ star followed Broadway luminary Patti LuPone in saying that Kardashian was taking away a role in beloved TV series from a seasoned actor.
Sharon Stone is another veteran actor who has dedicated years to training and working in the profession who doesn’t think much of reality star Kim Kardashian joining the cast of “American Horror Story.”
While appearing on Cohen’s show, “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” Sunday, LuPone was asked whether she cared about the influencer and shape wear mogul joining the show, Us Weekly said. LuPone, a Tony-winning Broadway luminary best known for playing “Evita,” said: “Yes, I do.”LuPone, who also has appeared in hundreds of other stage, film and TV roles going back to the 1970s, said she felt that Kardashian was taking a role away from a seasoned actor.
“Ten thousand hours; it’s a thing,” Stone added, referring to the idea that 10,000 hours of practice amounts to success in a given field — an idea popularized by Malcolm Gladwell’s 2008 book, “Outliers.” The FX series’ co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed Kardashian’s involvement in Season 12 via an Instagram announcement earlier this month, Us Weekly said. It looks like he didn’t alleviate the concerns of others in his industry when he told The Hollywood Reporter: “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family.”
