Stockbroker and wealth manager Shaw and Partners is trying to find a way into any Perpetual carve-up.
, lobbed last week and quickly rejected, would’ve seen BPEA also acquire Perpetual Private, which offers financial and other advice to high net worth clients and businesses.
Shaw and Partners, part owned by Swiss firm EFG International and with about $30 billion in assets under advice, moved quickly to flag its interest should Perpetual Private become available. It’s arguably the most ambitious and fast-growing of the Australian brokers, and services a similar base of clients to Perpetual Private.
