Brittany Higgins says former boss 'hated me' and 'avoided me like I was toxic' in audio interview with journalist Samantha Maiden : Court
Ms Maiden, who broke the story about her rape in February 2021, appeared in the witness box in the defamation trial between Senator Reynolds and Ms Higgins in the Western Australia Supreme Court. "I'm not naive to that, I don't think anything that happened to me is particularly remarkable," Ms Higgins said, referring to her rape."The only thing I know made everyone else care about it was where it happened and who it was connected to. They didn't care about me. They cared about the perception of the party. We were merely the side characters."
Messages between Mr Sharaz and Ms Maiden were read out in court, including one which read:"What a f****** scoop, haha."The political journalist was also questioned about Ms Higgins' request for the story to be published on Monday February 15, during Parliament sitting week.
