SheHulkAttorneyAtLaw star Jon Bass reveals whether his villainous character HulkKing still has his powers at the end of the finale, and teases his potential return.
Warning! SPOILERS for She-Hulk season 1 finale.Following the season finale of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, actor Jon Bass confirms that his character, Todd Phelps, no longer has the powers of the Hulk. She-Hulk follows Tatiana Maslany's Jennifer Walters as she gradually learns to balance life and work with the fact that she is also a Hulk.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In She-Hulk season 1's final episode, audiences learn that the person behind Intelligencia who goes by the name HulkKing, is none other than Todd Phelps, the narcissistic billionaire who attempted to make several romantic advances on She-Hulk throughout the show. Believing that Jen is undeserving of her powers, Todd injects himself with her blood, transforming into a form of the Hulk himself.
"That is very true. Yes [Todd's powers are taken away]. As of right now [no more powers for Todd], but crazier things have happened in the MCU. People have come back from death. So I think Todd can grab another vial of blood. As a billionaire — as we know, in real life, they don’t spend too long in jail — so I think there’s room for Todd to grow into more evil ways. Oh, Todd’s got very few things on his mind. But one of them is revenge. And we know he’s good at that.
HulkKing's Potential MCU Future Explained Although it appears that Jen's journey through the fourth wall in the She-Hulk finale undid most of Todd's evil plans, Bass' comments hint that there could still be a place for HulkKing in the MCU in the future. After all, a character with the money and resources like Todd who was able to pull off his plan for Jen's blood once is certainly capable of either doing so again, or attempting something far worse.
Meanwhile, Bass' tease about his character's fate carries greater implications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jen breaking the fourth wall and the meta ending of convincing K.E.V.I.N. to rewrite the episode gives She-Hulk an ability that audiences have yet to see at this point in the MCU. If HulkKing does return with his powers in a future film or show, this begs the question of whether Jen would seek out K.E.V.I.N. again, as well as how prominent of a role K.E.V.I.N.
