Royal family member Peter Phillips has praised his mother Princess Anne’s “remarkable” work ethic during an exclusive interview with Sky News Australia.
Princess Anne’s only son Peter Phillips has made an emotional tribute to his world-famous mother and revealed why the Princess Royal never “worries about column inches”. Alongside his younger sister Zara Tindall, the Phillips siblings were Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip's first grandchildren but they were not granted royal titles at the request of Anne.
Phillips is currently visiting Australia as patron of charity ISPS Handa, which supports disabled sportsmen and women, and sat down for an exclusive interview with Sky News Australia’s Royal Report where he opened up about his mother’s legacy. Anne, 73, is one of the most popular members of the royal family with the British public and is often ranked the workhorse of the Windsor family due to her heavy schedule of engagements.
The Princess Royal has earned even more praise in recent months after increasing her workload further to support her eldest brother during the King’s cancer battle. Phillips believes his mother’s devotion to charitable causes keeps the Princess Royal “energised” and said he marvels at how she maintains a hectic schedule flying around the world for engagements well into her seventh decade.
Phillips also made a rare comment on Anne’s sometimes complicated relationship with the media and said his mother has “not always” been a favourite in the press despite her faultless work ethic.
