Brian Ontiveros is accused of murder in the fatal shooting of Marissa Jernigan, his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his son.The mother of Marissa U. Jernigan, who was fatally shot in her apartment in on June 8, 2019, cried as she told a Bexar County jury how she is now raising Jernigan’s son.
Once she got to Brooke Army Medical Center’s emergency room, she waited for her husband to arrive, and was told that her daughter had to be rushed to surgery, Laura Jernigan said.Testimony established that Ontiveros and Jernigan were not getting along. An eyewitness to the shooting, Susanna Castellanos, testified Tuesday that Jernigan told her that Ontiveros wanted to get back together with her and be a family, but Jernigan did not.
