Robert Lindsay has joined the cast of BBC One's Sherwood and has spoken about his role on the show and said it was 'very personal' to him as he opened up on why he was 'desperate' to join the series
Sherwood has made a triumphant return to BBC One for its second series, introducing the esteemed British actor Robert Lindsay as Franklin Warner. The My Family star appeared on BBC Breakfast on Monday to talk about his eagerness to join the cast.
"It blew my mind. And actually it hurt, because I thought, you know, I'm from Nottingham, and I went through that whole thing, you know, that was going on in Nottingham at the time." "But I was very motivated by the political implications of what was going on in Nottingham at the time." On BBC Breakfast, he further commented: "My father was a trade unionist, I got very involved with the miners."
