A ship towing 200 tonnes of desperately-needed aid supplies has left Cyprus and is on its way to Gaza after days of delay, as fears grow Palestinians could face famine in coming weeks.

We dispatched almost 200 tons of food for Palestinians in need. The aid is sailing on the Open Arms boat and will be delivered to Gaza where our team is building a jetty to offload the shipment.Everyone thought was impossible, still many things are happening at once. We need to finish the Jetty that will allow us to download the food! Failure is not an option..
The ship carrying materials needed for the build reportedly left its base in the United States on Sunday. "Unfortunately, as grim as the picture we see today is, there is every possibility for further deterioration," said senior UN official Ramesh Rajasingham in late February.
