“Due to persistent cloud cover over the Kimberley in the last few weeks there has been lack of clear cloudless satellite imagery,” he said. According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the enormous volume of water is continuing to move downstream.On Monday the Fitzroy River at Willare peaked at 10.60 metres, where it is expected to remain above the major flood level of 9.20 metres for several days.It is estimated the flood has displaced more than 280 people and caused damage to at least 100 homes in the Kimberley region, as well as destroying roads and the Fitzroy River Bridge.
