SAN LEANDRO — A 16-year-old boy was killed and a 17-year-old boy wounded after gunfire erupted at an apartment complex Tuesday night.
Both teens were shot about 9:10 p.m., at the complex in the 14700 block of Washington Avenue, police said. San Leandro police Asst. Chief Luis Torres said officers found the two teens down when they arrived and administered aid. An ambulance took them both to a hospital. The 16-year-old died there. The 17-year-old was in stable condition Wednesday morning, Torres said. Police were working to determine a motive for the shooting and were looking for at least one shooter.
The homicide is the second investigated by San Leandro police this year, according to records kept by this news organization.
