Shooting reported at Canberra Airport | FletaTheTweeter
Canberra Airport is in lockdown after gunshots were reportedly heard in the check-in concourse.
Early reports indicate there was a single shooter who has been arrested, and no injuries have been reported. Travellers reported on social media the airport was placed into lockdown and there is a heavy police presence. ABC journalist Dan Bourcher tweeted he was sitting in a plane on the airport tarmac, and “the captain just told us the AFP is doing a ‘security sweep’ of the airport after we were told the airport has been evacuated.”
A spokesperson for the airport said declined to comment, noting it was a “police matter at the moment”.
