Aldi is getting a reputation for offering designer dupes at a fraction of the cost of some designer versions. The latest offering comes in the form of cookware, with a £30 Homeware SpecialBuy being compared to a similar designer item that retails at £300.

A whopping difference of £270.Being referred to by Aldi as 'a kitchen essential', the reaction to the casserole dishes was spotted by Nottinghamshire Live sister publication Manchester Evening News, which said one reviewer had commented: “Heavy Cast Iron Casserole Dish. A good solid pot, ideal for large casseroles on a long slow cook. Large capacity to enable batch cooking.
The 26cm Casserole Dish by Kirkton House weighs a hefty 6kg, and that's before you've filled it, and comes in either pearl or sage colours. It features a tough enamel coating and a non-stick finish. They are suitable for all hobs including induction and are oven safe up to 250°C. However, they're not dishwasher safe.
