Having bought from the real frank green website in the past, the same purchase form came up and again I happily popped in my credit card details with thoughts of ecstatic kids opening the much-coveted drink bottles.I’d received convincing confirmation emails from both companies, and even a tracking email from ‘Cotton On’, but my bank statement told a different story.Adverts like this one for a fake Frank Green website are appearing on Facebook, Instagram and other social media.

The scammers send these cheap items, with tracked delivery, instead of the actual goods to fight disputes.They have the tracking as proof. For some payment processors, this is a good enough reason to rule in the scammer’s favour or for the dispute to roll on longer. If a site only offers one payment method, or asks for payments in gift cards or bitcoin, this is also a sign it could be fraudulent.In a statement, frank green told me: “We can assure you that we are doing everything we can to help avoid this from happening.
