Shore School’s appalling muck-up day manifesto enraged the nation this week. But it’s not the first crisis to rock the ritzy institution.
But this week’s shocking muck-up day scandal painted a very different picture – and it turns out it was far from an isolated occurrence.
The so-called “Triwizard Shorenament” sparked nationwide fury at the historic school, whose alumni include comedian Peter Berner, The Whitlams’ Tim Freedman and actor John Wood – but since then, other disturbing incidents involving Shore students have also come to light.Last week, students shared a video on Tik Tok showing off the campus’ luxury facilities, including a “recovery pool”, a “harbour view library” and a “$50 mill gym”.
In 2017, the school was also at the centre of a scandal after Deputy Headmaster Rod Morrison was pictured with a group of Year 12 students who held a Nazi flag and posed with the Nazi raised arm salute. “There was a real sense of snobbery and superiority over other parts of Sydney and other demographics. It was unmistakeable in that message.”
