Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese should be going to Alice Springs “ASAP” amid the regional city’s ongoing youth crime crisis.
Nationals Senator Matt Canavan has backed calls “to send in the military” to restore order in Alice Springs and lashed Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for failing to return to the crime-plagued city.
“Clearly the Northern Territory government is not capable of maintaining law and order in this city,” Mr Canavan told the Outsiders panel on Sunday morning. In Question Time last week, Peter Dutton pressed the Prime Minister on when he intended to return to Alice Springs amid the renewed national focus on the city’s crime rates.
