Sid Metcalfe was aged just 21 when his unit landed at Sword Beach on 16 June 1944Sid Metcalfe, who served with the 3rd Reconnaissance Company, landed at Sword Beach on 16 June 1944.
Mr Metcalfe, who was aged just 21 when his unit landed at Sword Beach, was a member of the York Normandy Veterans' Association.
