The NRL has reportedly sent a warning to clubs, threatening “significant sanctions” after concerns were raised regarding trainers forcing free HIA interchanges., who are reporting an edict was sent to all 17 club’s powerbrokers by NRL head of football elite competitions Graham Annesley.
Trainers must speak to the doctor through their headset, explaining a player’s symptoms before gaining the relevant approval. “Following review of several recent incidents, it is timely to stress the very specific requirements to be observed by trainers regarding removal of players from the field for Head Injury Assessments ,” the NRL edict read.
