A Silverstone motorbike rider gave a strong showing at Brands Hatch over the weekend. Kade Verwey, from Northamptonshire, continued to pick up the points after two strong Pirelli National Superstock Championship races.
Aboard his Team XG Racing BMW, Verwey quickly got to grips with the circuit and high temperatures and managed to qualify 20th on the grid from 36 riders ahead of the opening race on Saturday afternoon.After a good start, he got a little boxed in into turn one but was able to hold position before starting to make moves through the field and was up to 15th when the race was stopped five laps early after another rider crashed.
When it went in, he was soon able to make more progress as he pushed on and made his way up to 14th position by the chequered flag. "In Race One, I got a good start but got boxed-in at the first corner but after that, it was a good race. It ended early but I was running 15th so I was happy – I got a point, and that’s all I was hoping for.
