Vogue spoke to Simona Tabasco about watching Lucia and Mia swan off into the sunset like the reigning queens of Taormina, her thoughts on Lucia’s iconic wardrobe, and her vote for where the next season of the WhiteLotus should be set.
—or even just a casual peruser of social media—you’ve likely heard of nothing but the show’s second season’s finale ever since it aired on Sunday. Two of the season’s brightest lights by far were Lucia and Mia , the joined-at-the-hip aspiring city girls who find themselves very much alive—and, in Lucia’s case, loaded with cold hard cash—by the season’s end.
I don’t know, but I really hope she would realize all of her dreams. I hope she bought her store, maybe fired the store clerk—no, just kidding—and did what she really wanted to do all along. When we built the character with Mike [White,’s creator] and the costume designer, Alex Bovaird, we really wanted to show the progress that Lucia and Mia go through.
I don’t know! I would really love to be part of an international project, partly because I want to improve my English. Italian is such a beautiful language to speak and to act in, but it’s also very articulated. Acting and speaking in English is so fun and fast, and it’s something I really want to do more of. I’ve been spending most of my time either working, going on auditions, or studying English, but I want to spend more time reading.
