Six people have died across six separate crashes in a tragic day on Australia's roads.

The crashes occurred across four states on Tuesday as the overall number of road deaths in Australia threatens to surpass 2023 numbers.

The man was taken to hospital for mandatory testing while investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.Around the same time as the Wilberforce crash, a woman died at the scene after she was hit by a car trailer in NSW's Northern Tablelands. At about 5pm a red Holden Rodeo travelling north on the Bruce Highway in Gordonvale rolled over, landing on its roof.

A 43-year-old male cyclist died at the scene after colliding with a van on the Dukes Highway at Brimbago, about 240km southeast of Adelaide.Just after 2.30pm, a motorbike crashed into a tree on Vindana Road, Paralowie.
