Two police officers have been shot and killed in an ambush at a remote property on Queensland’s Darling Downs. 7NEWS
An emergency declaration was made under the Public Safety Preservation Act, remaining in place on Tuesday morning, for the Wieambilla area and Wains Rd.
A member of the public, reported to be a neighbour, was also found with fatal gunshot wounds at the property.Commissioner Katarina Carroll said the incident was devastating for the victims’ families and the wider police force. “I would like to pay tribute to all police and first responders who assisted at the scene and are continuing to respond this evening.
