Paramedics attended the home in Merrylands just before 5am, where they treated two children and four adults.Six people, which included two children and four adults, have been rushed to hospital.
Paramedics rushed to the scene amid reports one person in the household had become ill with "headaches".It was only when family members showed paramedics photographs of the burner they began to understand exactly what had taken place. "All patients were suffering nausea and showing signs of drowsiness – consistent with carbon monoxide poisoning," NSW Ambulance Inspector Andrew McAlpine said."In this cold weather, it's so important to follow the public messages about staying safe as you keep warm – and having working alarm systems."The family members have been transferred to Westmead Hospital and Westmead Children's Hospital.
