On 6-year anniversary, Warriors remember Klay Thompson’s 60-point game against Pacers.
SAN FRANCISCO — Klay Thompson has had his fair share of otherworldly performances. Monday night marks the six-year anniversary of one of them.
“I remember people being mad for me not keeping him out there on the floor, so that he could try to get 70,” coach STeve Kerr said. “But we had a big lead at the end of the third and so it was clear cut we were gonna win the game. So it’s an easy decision but I just remember, and we’ve seen Klay get hot over the years but there’s a few games that stand out and that’s one of them.
“I just saw the highlights, I didn’t see the game,” Poole said. “I thought it was fire. But i thought the 37 in a quarter was probably crazier. 37 in a quarter? Bro, people go 48 minutes and try to get 40 points. 37 in a quarter is nuts… That’s insane.” Thompson became the first player to score 60 points in at least three quarters since Kobe Bryant scored 62 points in 2006.
“I’m focusing on the defense and you don’t enjoy it as much as when you watch it again,” Adams said. “I mean I enjoyed it, but it’s just going on… You don’t realize the gravity of it… I think when he set the three-point record in Chicago it was more apparent just for whatever reason because we kind of knew what was happening.
