A new report by Deloitte argues that skilled migrants and simpler pathways to permanent residents could help Australia overcome its job crisis.

Deloitte Global Employer Services Partner Fiona Webb says Australia needs to send a stronger message to migrants that its open for business.

Ms Webb also said looking at other measures such as expanding the amount of humanitarian visas Australia accepts could help overcome its job crisis. “There’s huge untapped potential in that skillset and that talent pool that we’re really not capitalising on and also in terms of numbers we readily welcome into the country,” she told Sky News Australia.
