Developers want to build a 37-storey apartment complex on a Broadbeach site only 15 metres wide.
The architect of a luxury apartment complex proposed for the Gold Coast has had to contend with the fact the narrowest side of the block fronts the beach.
The project for Melbourne firm, Little Projects, would stand taller than its neighbours: Ocean Royale to the north, Boulevard Tower to the east, and Eclipse Broadbeach to the south, which are all between 16-21 storeys. “The second concept draws on a strong modernist language and tradition, which is historically related to a strong European, and Italian, architectural tradition, and also closely linked to a sense of classical and timeless proportions and architectural detailing and language.All that aside, the architects have emphasised the views over Broadbeach by choosing to make the main entrance from Australia Avenue, which runs to and from the beach.
Between the ground floor and the apartments – from floors three to 34 – is a residents’ communal area with a pool towards the ocean end and an exercise zone towards Old Burleigh Road.
