Australia Day celebrations are set to be banned at more than 200 pubs and bars across the country in 2025 over 'sadness' and 'hurt' the public holiday can cause.

A spokesman for the company flagged it celebrates"what makes Australia great" year round, adding issues have been raised about the national day by staff and customers. Queensland is the state most impacted by the company's decision, with 90 venues to stop festivities, followed by Victoria , South Australia and New South Wales .
"It's up to you. You've got lots of ways you can respond to this and all of them should be respectful. We're not the mob that's going around and carrying on like the extreme left does. You can write a letter, you can try to contact the bosses," he said. Murray then called out the hypocrisy from the company.
The Sky News host also revealed one of his"loved" venues was on the list, ruling out ever visiting the establishment again until it is under new management.Murray stressed to not ring and take anger out on the employees of the bars and pubs as it was not their decision, and to simply hit the company where it hurt most.
