On the eve of the annular solar eclipse, the energy and excitement in one small Utah town was palpable.
Richfield has been preparing for this big event where tens of thousands of people are expected to converge upon Sevier County to witness the “ring of fire.” NASA estimates maximum totality will be visible from Richfield at 10:28 a.m. Saturday.
“This is the stuff kids love,” said Steve. “When you do something that’s fun like this, then it’s not like learning.” A few blocks away downtown, big crowds walked through Main Street. The city’s fall festival was going on, but this year, the crowds were bigger. Other came from a bit further. Dale Turner drove from Kansas City, Missouri and had never been to Utah before now.
