RECALL: Two sledgehammer varieties sold in Australia's biggest hardware stores have been hit with a product recall over fears the heads could detach while being used. FULL DETAILS: 9News

The products were sold at stores across Australia, including a number of Bunnings, Mitre 10, Total Tools, Sydney Tools and independent hardware shops.The affected models for the DeWalt will have the following identification codes on the head: DWHT56024, DWHT56025, DWHT56026, DWHT56027, DWHT56029, DWHT56030, DWHT56141, DWHT56142, DWHT56147, DWHT56148.

The affected models for the Stanley, meanwhile, have the following identification codes on the handle: FMHT56006, FMHT56008, FMHT56009, FMHT56010, FMHT56011, FMHT56019. PSA warned that the head of the affected hammers "may loosen prematurely and detach unexpectedly during use", posing a risk to the user or bystanders.READ MORE:Anybody who owns one of the hammers is urged to register for a refund and look for disposal information
