Northern Ireland's fading hopes of reaching the 2024 Euros took another blow on Thursday night
Northern Ireland's Euro dream suffered another massive blow on Thursday night as they fell to a 4-2 defeat in Slovenia.Unfortunately the hosts scored four of their own, including a clinical double from Andraz Sporar and further strikes from Petar Stojanovic and Benjamin Sesko.
Sporar gave the hosts the lead in the third minute, but Northern Ireland replied four minutes later through Isaac Price's first international goal. Stojanovic made it 2-1 in the 17th minute and then Sesko fired home the third three minutes before the break. Northern Ireland rallied in the second half and Jonny Evans scored to make it 3-2 in the 53rd minute.
But any hope was dashed three minutes later when Sporar ghosted through a non-existent Northern Ireland defence to score Slovenia's fourth.Next up it's Kazakhstan away on Sunday.
