A Queensland snake catcher bitten by an eastern brown has spoken from hospital, revealing he has lost function in his face. Tony Harrison struggled to speak in the 24-second video posted to Facebook on Tuesday morning, two days after he was bitten during a removal job in Logan. “My eyes don’t work, my tongue doesn’t work,” he said, before calling for privacy during his recovery. He held open an eyelid as he filmed the video.
Brooke was also hospitalised when she “collapsed” from stress and exhaustion in the hours after the incident. “As for myself, I was not bitten. I suffered stomach and chest pains, exhaustion and stress,” she said on Facebook on Monday. She said their son Jensen “is so happy that he can still spend time with his dad”. “But he is very tired too,” Brooke said. A video posted to their Facebook page showed the two eastern browns from Stockleigh being released into bushland on Monday.
