The security operation for King Charles’ coronation is “extraordinarily tight” as snipers will be positioned on the roof, says Sky News Investigations Reporter Jonathan Lea.

“There will be thousands of defence personnel also around the monarch,” Mr Lea told Saturday Herald Sun columnist Steve Price.

“Police absolutely everywhere, you’ve also got every 15-20 metres along the processional routes at the moment … people in the high vis jackets, they’re also marking and staking out the area. “You’ll notice in the day leading up they’ll take down all of the traffic lights, they’ll go through and they’ll recheck all the drains and all the tunnels underneath Whitehall as well.

“It’s fearsome, when you look at what the police do and how they close that area off and safeguard everyone.”
